Read a Book

Aim to read a book in the first week of the new year – any book. It does not have to be any great works of literature or anything particularly educational – if you want to read 50 Shades of Grey, go for it. If you want to have a crack at a Charles Dickens’ novel, feel free. Whatever it is, curl up and enjoy giving your imagination some nourishment.

The beginning of any new year is a time for making plans, but even more so when it is a new decade. Spend a couple of hours with a notebook and a pen, thinking about all of the things you want to achieve in 2020 and beyond and how you can go about doing it.

Spend Some Time Alone

Many of us are always surrounded by people and never get the chance to be alone and focus on ourselves. Go to the cinema, go for a meal or take yourself off for a coffee and a slice of cake at your local coffee shop. It is an excellent opportunity to relax and reflect and recharge your batteries for the months ahead.

Go for a Long Walk

If you are enjoying time off for the holidays, it can be tempting to stay in your pajamas and not brave the outdoors – but do it anyway. Load up your favorite music, podcast, or audiobook, bundle up, and enjoy a walk in the winter weather that most people avoid.

This is the perfect time to go through your phone, computer, and email and delete everything that is taking up space! It will make you feel more organized and can improve the function of your devices ready for 2020.
