First and foremost, I want you to know this: my motivation for creating this blog—and making it a success—IS YOU.
I am super excited you’re here!
I am a self-proclaimed grammar nerd and professional proofreader. I’m also a girl who believes wholeheartedly in the need for each of us to find our own version of happy.
My ambition is that this blog become a place to learn a thing or two and become a community of support and positivity for those who may need a little extra support every now and then.
Along with that is my super-nerdy need to share writing tips and tricks with anyone who may be interested—and sometimes when they’re not! I know—strange, right? Yep, I’m strange. And that’s okay!
It’s a weird combination for a blog, but there’s nothin’ wrong with bein’ a little different!
Yep, writing tips. I would loooove to be a successful author. I have so very much admiration for the authors of the world who share their heart and soul in their novels. I admire the courage it must take to put your whole self into such a long-term project only to expose it to the world to either praise or criticize.
Sadly—I just don’t have the patience and talent. I am not a writer. I absolutely love books, though, and I loooove to read! And as harsh as this sounds, I loooove to find glaring errors others miss. It’s a bit of an obsession of mine.
A bit of a disclosure here, though—it’s ALWAYS harder for me to find errors in my own writing. When I proofread my own work, I see what I think I wrote and what’s supposed to be there, NOT the errors that are actually there.
I need your help! So, if you see an error anywhere on this site–TELL ME!! If you’ve read many of my posts, you’ll know I NEVER recommend proofreading your own work unless you absolutely have to. At this point, though, this is a one-man shop… so I have to!
Okay, on to other things …
Let’s find your happy!
I’ve lived with depression and anxiety for more than 20 years. (Yikes, I’m a teeny tiny bit old!) I’ve also worked for many years with detained and at-risk youth with a number of different mental health issues. I’ve been upfront and personal with the challenges that come with living a life with mental health issues for a very long time.
I am uniquely qualified to partner with you in your endeavor to find happiness. I will provide you strategies for living a less-stressed, more satisfying, and fulfilling happy life.
Happiness is defined differently for each of us, but having someone near who understands can make all the difference.
I’m here for YOU!
And now… just a little bit about my world and those I love…
My family and I are a military family who’ve moved umpteen times, and lived in LOTS of different places. We currently live on the Gulf Coast of Florida and feel like we may have finally found our forever home. Maybe. It’s beautiful here, and I’ve always loved the beach!
I have two stinky teenage boys I adore and a wonderful husband who make me laugh even when I don’t want to. They’ve always supported me when I’ve needed a little extra encouragement, even though they do that without fully understanding why I need it. Thankfully, the hold depression has held on our lives isn’t nearly as strong as in the past. Most of the strategies I will pass on to you in my posts, I have used myself–and they’ve helped me.
I have found my happy place, though. I still fight depression every day, but I’ve learned a lot along the way, and my survival skills are far greater than they’ve ever been.
I want to hep you find your happy too!
Now, let’s go find your happy… and learn grammar! (Could those two things be any LESS related?)
